A Merry Christmas Match

The film opens in the quaint town of Harmony, where Corey Calvin is busy preparing for the annual Christmas pageant and managing her family's antique shop with her mother, Dorothy. Her best friend Jillian, now a famous actress on the show 'Burning Hearts,' returns home for the holidays accompanied by her boyfriend Davey and his friend Ryder Donnelly, a wealthy real estate heir recently featured in a magazine as a top holiday bachelor. Ryder and Corey first meet when he wanders into the antique shop; in a clumsy moment, he breaks an antique chair and then attempts to purchase a broken clock that Corey insists is not for sale. Despite their initial friction—Corey finds him conceited and Ryder finds her defensive—they begin to bond over shared interests. During a late-night walk, Corey impresses Ryder with her knowledge of reindeer, explaining that because they all have antlers in winter, Santa’s reindeer must all be female. They share a romantic moment stargazing, where Ryder notices their 'stars crossing.' Ryder encourages Corey to pursue her artistic talents in a bigger city, but Corey feels tethered to Harmony by a promise to keep her father's shop running, even though the business is struggling financially. Jillian eventually convinces Corey to fly to Los Angeles for the Donnellys' annual Christmas soiree. In LA, Corey is transformed by a glamorous makeover and meets Ryder’s parents, who are impressed by her. Ryder’s mother even offers to help her secure a directing job in the city. However, the budding romance is threatened when Victoria, a family friend and former flame of Ryder’s, appears and mentions a planned trip to wine country with him. Feeling like she doesn't belong in Ryder's world and hurt by the perceived betrayal, Corey flees back to Harmony. Back home, Corey discovers that an anonymous trader has purchased a large portion of the shop's inventory, providing enough money to keep the business afloat for months. During the Christmas Pageant, Corey gives an emotional speech about 'dreaming big' and announces it will be her last show in Harmony as she intends to move to LA. Ryder appears at the pageant, revealing he was the anonymous trader who saved the shop. He clears up the misunderstanding about Victoria, explaining she is just a family friend. The movie concludes with the couple reuniting, agreeing to spend their lives together in the city while maintaining their connection to Harmony.
