    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The leads are already dating because this is a stealth sequel to 'A Gift to Remember'.
    • The 'Hot Chocolate Scandal' involving a rival store only giving 9 ounces of liquid in a 12-ounce cup.
    • The protagonist hit the love interest with a bike a year ago, causing him amnesia, which they refer to as the 'best thing that ever happened'.
    • A bookstore named 'Books Books Books' serves as a corporate villain.

    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens with Darcy Archer managing her bookstore, Chaucer's, and Aiden Harris, an art teacher, preparing for a one-year medical checkup following a bicycle accident that caused him to lose his memory the previous Christmas. Unlike most Hallmark films, the leads are already an established couple. The central conflict arises when they learn that the Liberty Rec Center, a cornerstone of their Philadelphia neighborhood, is being sold by owner David Pierce for redevelopment. Meanwhile, Mrs. Henley’s nephew Marcus arrives to spend the holidays while his military parents are deployed, and he struggles to adjust to their absence. To cheer Darcy up, Aiden decides to create a 'companion' Christmas village to match a set her late father made, which depicted her mother's hometown in Maine. He enlists Marcus to help, creating a bond between the man and the boy. Darcy, on the other hand, attempts to save the Rec Center by applying for historic landmark status, a move that frustrates David Pierce. Tensions rise when a corporate rival bookstore, 'Books Books Books,' refuses to participate in a charity drive and later 'steals' a headline author, Barbara Kirkland, for a Christmas Eve event. Darcy discovers the rival store is also allegedly cheating customers by filling hot chocolate cups with extra whipped cream to hide a lack of actual liquid. As the Christmas party at the Rec Center approaches, Darcy and Aiden successfully get the building under historic review, halting the sale. In a surprising twist, they discover that David Pierce’s nephew is Pat Young, a first-time author whom Darcy has been mentoring and supporting at her bookstore. This act of kindness softens Pierce’s heart, leading him to announce at the party that he will renovate the center instead of selling it. The film culminates in a grand gesture where Aiden presents Darcy with the completed miniature village, including a model of the house she grew up in—a piece her father never finished. Marcus is reunited with his father, who returns early from deployment, and Aiden proposes to Darcy in front of the community. She accepts, and the neighborhood celebrates a preserved legacy.
