What to expect
The first film uses the dog-show setting for a clash between Elizabeth and Donovan. Wedding planning replaces that competition in the sequel, but differences in money, personality and expectations remain part of their relationship. This is a contemporary romance pair with recurring leads, rather than a period Austen adaptation.
