Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story2024

John Putch works the director's chair, not the lead role, and he has been quietly turning out Hallmark pictures since 2003. Across six films he keeps things grounded and conventional, the kind of clean, unfussy storytelling that fans put on without a second thought. Half of his work leans into Christmas, three holiday titles in all, and when he sets a story somewhere it tends to be the big city rather than the usual small town. His best-reviewed is You Had Me at Aloha from 2021 at 6.4, with the early A Time to Remember from 2003 and Where There's a Will from 2006 both landing at 6.2. The numbers sit in a comfortable middle, nothing flashy. That is the point. If you like a Hallmark movie that behaves itself, Putch has been making them for two decades.
