Welcome to Mama's

Amy Lamay is a mid-level manager at a corporate restaurant chain called Chow, feeling uninspired and overlooked for a promotion. She frequently visits her mentor, Mama Tucci, at her traditional Italian restaurant, 'Mama's.' When Mama Tucci passes away, Amy is shocked to learn that she has been left the restaurant in the will, under the condition that the current head chef, Frank Rossi, remains in his position. Amy and Frank have a 'meet-cute' at a coffee shop over the last cannoli before realizing they are now business partners. Frank, a talented but 'brash' chef, recently received a devastating 5-out-of-10 fork review from top critic Kimberly Ramirez for his 'fusion' menu, a fact he keeps secret from Amy. Amy wants to 'reboot' the restaurant by returning to its 1970s roots, while Frank wants to innovate. They clash over everything from the decor to the presence of a 'Galaxy Blast' arcade game in the dining room. To bridge the gap, Frank takes Amy on a 'reverse date' through Little Italy and the East River, visiting spots significant to Mama and her late husband, Roberto. During this time, they bond over their shared grief and a vintage stove that needs a rare part. However, tension peaks when Amy discovers Frank's bad review and his secret interviews for other jobs. Feeling betrayed, she unilaterally reverts the menu to basic staples for the soft opening, which deeply offends Frank's professional pride. While cleaning, Amy finds a letter Mama wrote to her but never sent, which Frank had encouraged Mama to write before she died. The letter provides Amy with the closure she needed regarding a past falling out and reveals that Mama actually supported Frank's creative risks. Realizing she was wrong to stifle Frank's talent, Amy reincorporates his dishes into the grand reopening menu. On the night of the 50th anniversary, Frank turns down a prestigious job offer at a rival restaurant to stay with Amy. The critic Kimberly Ramirez returns, giving the new collaborative menu a perfect 10-out-of-10 forks. The film concludes with Amy and Frank dancing on the rooftop, agreeing to become co-owners and romantic partners, ready to fill the remaining blank pages of Mama's cookbook together.
