    Full story (spoilers)
Annabelle Blanche, a creative former ad executive, fulfills her dream by opening 'So You Said Yes,' a vintage-themed bridal boutique in Woodson Falls. Her shop stands in direct opposition to 'Ever After,' a traditional, high-end bridal salon owned by the formidable Claire Taylor. The film opens with Annabelle describing a recurring nightmare about 'The March of the Bridal Meringues,' highlighting her distaste for cookie-cutter wedding aesthetics. She meets Sam Taylor when he wanders into her shop to warn her about a car being towed, though he quickly reveals himself to be a logical, golf-loving lawyer. Unbeknownst to Annabelle, Sam is Claire's son. The two begin a series of 'outings'—Annabelle refuses to call them dates due to her fear of commitment and labels, a trait she developed watching her father, Nick, go through multiple marriages. Their romance blossoms over 'Dalai Lama Momos' and thrift store runs, even as Sam keeps his mother's identity a secret to avoid scaring Annabelle off. The conflict intensifies when Annabelle and Claire both vie for the business of the Mayor's daughter, Claire. During a joint consultation, the two women trade passive-aggressive barbs about tradition versus authenticity. The secret blows up at an anniversary party for the Parkers, where Annabelle discovers Sam's lineage and sees him with Hillary, a 'thoroughbred' ex-girlfriend Claire is actively trying to reunite him with. Feeling betrayed, Annabelle breaks things off. Sam eventually wins her back by proving he values her 'right-brain' spontaneity over his 'left-brain' logic, and he proposes with a vintage ring. However, the wedding planning becomes a new battlefield as Claire takes over every detail, from the shellfish-heavy menu (despite Annabelle being a vegetarian) to the release of white doves. After a public blowout at their engagement party, Annabelle's father, Nick, shares a story about a plaid couch that almost ended his marriage to Annabelle's mother, teaching her that love is about the journey, not the decor. Simultaneously, Claire's assistant, Maya, helps Claire realize her overbearing nature stems from the grief of losing her husband. The two women finally bond when Claire offers Annabelle her own vintage wedding dress as a 'something borrowed.' On the wedding day, a massive storm floods the venue, but the family pivots, holding a small, intimate ceremony at the shop and a reception at Claire's house, proving that the marriage is more important than the 'meringue' dress.
