Signed, Sealed, Delivered: A Tale of Three Letters

The film opens with Oliver O'Toole and Shane McInerney returning from their European honeymoon, reflecting on their status as a 'great postal love story.' Upon returning to the Dead Letter Office (DLO), they are greeted by Norman and Rita, who are helping their friend Charley care for her baby, Eleanor. The team discovers three letters from the 'Great Mailbox Breach of 2017,' a historical event where a mailbox was detonated by a bomb squad due to a suspected explosive. Charley shockingly confesses that she and two high school friends, Barry and Marlon, caused the incident by placing a ticking alarm clock in the mailbox as a 'seize the day' prank. One letter is a harsh missive from a teacher, Mrs. Philpott, to a student named Maria Solinger, who was arrested for vandalism after failing a class. The team tracks down Mrs. Philpott, who reveals she wrote the letter while battling cancer and now regrets her anger. They eventually find Maria, who has turned her life around and works as an adoption agent. This connection proves providential for Norman and Rita, who are struggling with the adoption process; Maria helps them find a baby with a congenital heart condition who needs a loving home. Meanwhile, a second letter is a love confession addressed to Charley. Though initially thought to be from the 'wild' friend Barry, it is revealed that Barry forged the letter as a prank on Marlon, but Marlon had actually written a sincere, second letter on green paper that was also lost in the breach. The DLO team reunites Charley with Marlon, who is now a successful law student. Throughout these investigations, Oliver and Shane face domestic tension as Shane feels stifled by Oliver’s rigid adherence to his ancestral home's historical rules and his 'museum-like' lifestyle. After a series of mishaps—including Oliver accidentally sending Shane's wedding dress to a cleaners that burns down and Shane breaking a 100-year-old family clock—the couple attends marriage therapy. In the climax, Oliver realizes he must prioritize his wife over his heritage. He decides to donate the O'Toole mansion to the state as a postal museum so he and Shane can start a new life in a home of their own. The film concludes with Shane revealing to a joyous Oliver that she is pregnant.
