One Perfect Wedding

The film opens with Cara, a successful mystery novelist, and Ben, the CEO of Charmed Snowboards, facing a scheduling crisis. Ben is moving to Asia to open a new factory, and Cara is embarking on a two-month international book tour. Realizing they can't bear to be apart without being married, they attempt a courthouse elopement but stop when Cara realizes she wants her father to walk her down the aisle. They decide to host a wedding in ten days at Clara Lake, the mountain resort where they first met and fell in love. Megan, Cara's best friend, takes on the role of wedding planner, using the project to distract herself from missing her boyfriend, Sean, who is working abroad as a doctor. At the resort, Ben discovers that a corporate giant, Weatherly Hotels, is trying to buy Clara Lake, which would end 'Camp Snow,' a charity program for kids that Ben attended as a child. He secretly works to find the owner of a 10% shell company called Aldera Creek to block the sale. Meanwhile, Cara becomes fascinated by the resort's history, specifically the legend of founders Max and Clara. She finds an old letter suggesting their marriage failed due to secrets, which mirrors her own anxiety about Ben's secretive behavior regarding the business deal. A major subplot involves a dress mix-up: Ben's sister Zoey accidentally orders the bride's dress in 'moonflower' (purple) and the maid of honor's in 'moonstone' (white). As the wedding approaches, a freak spring snowstorm hits, closing the roads and preventing the cake, DJ, and catering from arriving. The conflict reaches a head when Cara confronts Ben about his secrets, but he reveals his plan to save the resort. Cara uses her detective skills to realize that Goldie, the resort's piano player, is actually the daughter of the founders and the owner of Aldera Creek. Goldie agrees to sell to Ben to preserve the resort's legacy. On the wedding day, Cara wears her mother's vintage wedding dress to solve the color mix-up. The group organizes a DIY reception with bratwurst and fondue. In the final moments, Sean surprises Megan by arriving through the snow, and after a failed initial attempt involving a misplaced ring box, he proposes to her on the slopes. The film ends with both couples celebrating their future together.
