    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The business name 'Grrrreat jobs by David' uses four Rs to stand for Restore, Renovate, Refurbish, and Repair.
    • The house's front door became the back door because the town literally moved the road to keep the property within city limits.
    • David's family celebrated Christmas with a 'Christmas fern' instead of a tree.
    • The scavenger hunt is remarkably complex, involving hidden compartments in walls, fireplaces, and dollhouses that remained undiscovered for 60 years.

    Full story (spoilers)
Heidi Wicks, a single mother from North Carolina, arrives in New Hollow to take over as the director of the Historical Society. She moves into a large, historic house provided by the society, much to the skepticism of the former director, David Avery, who now runs a renovation business called 'Grrrreat jobs by David.' While settling in, Heidi's children, Annie and Garrett, discover a hidden compartment behind a painting containing a wooden reindeer and a rhyming clue. This sparks a scavenger hunt involving eight reindeer hidden throughout the house by a mysterious figure known as 'JR.' Heidi learns that her home was once 'Mistletoe Manor,' owned by the Rawlings family, who were famous for their elaborate Christmas displays until they abruptly stopped in the 1950s. As Heidi and David work together to create a 'History of Christmas' exhibit, they find more clues hidden in a nutcracker, a dollhouse, and a toy train. The mystery deepens when David's father, Wallace, arrives in town and acts strangely about the house. Eventually, Wallace reveals the truth: he is actually Walter Rawlings, the son of the original owners. The family 'went dark' after his sister Dorothy died of pneumonia, and his father, consumed by grief, sent Wallace and his mother away to start a new life. The scavenger hunt was a final gift from his father, JR, intended for 'Wall' (Wallace) to find one day. Despite opposition from the 'grinchy' Deputy Mayor Pruitt, who threatens Heidi's job due to her focus on decorating over 'fiscal responsibility,' Heidi gains the support of the Mayor to revive the Mistletoe Manor Christmas Eve celebration. The film culminates in a festive party where the community gathers, Wallace reconciles with his childhood home by reading 'The Night Before Christmas' in his father's old sleigh, and Heidi and David share a romantic moment under the mistletoe, having successfully restored both the house and the town's holiday spirit.
