Opening
Emilia returns to Mystery Island from London, reconnects with Jason, and learns that Carlos is expanding the brand to a new Mystery Mountain property in Montana, setting up a friendly but tense competition with the rival team.
Inciting incident
The Mystery Mountain team arrives with a high-tech game format, and an AI hologram of Evelyn Murtaugh launches a riddle-based murder mystery; soon after, Regan appears to die from a remote-triggered dart and allergic shock.
Rising action
The island is cut off, the body disappears, everyone is forced into close quarters, and Emilia, Jason, and the others begin solving Evelyn's riddles while suspicion starts shifting among the rival teams.
Midpoint
The Telemachus clue and later cipher work point toward Dex, while a second apparent death at the tower makes the mystery seem even more dangerous and convinces the group they may be dealing with an actual killer.
Conflict escalates
Stanley becomes the prime suspect after acting suspiciously and pulling a knife on Jason, and Tom's old conflict with Stanley is revealed, widening mistrust and making everyone fear there may be an accomplice on the island.
Climax
Jason and Emilia solve the pattern and expose that the supposed murders are staged, John Murtaugh's legacy is part of the trick, and the missing bodies and fake clues were all arranged to create a meta mystery rather than real killings.
Resolution
The deception is revealed to the whole group, the Mystery Mountain team is forgiven, Carlos praises the game, and Jason and Emilia finally acknowledge their romantic feelings for each other.
A few things that make this one stand out once you stack it up against every other Hallmark movie.
At 2 hours it's a genuine epic by Hallmark standards — only about 58 of their movies run two hours or longer.
