    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The protagonist's name is June specifically because she was born in June and her parents had a June wedding.
    • The 'Mean Girl Ban' is a strictly enforced rule for June's wedding planning.
    • June admits to flirting with a plumber while her engagement ring is stuck in the sink drain.
    • The catering conflict centers heavily on the 'inventiveness' of kale crisps and brussels sprout dip.

    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens on New Year's Eve at the lavish home of the Blackwell family. June Fraser, a nurse-practitioner, feels intimidated by the high-society world of her boyfriend Alex's mother, Diana, a renowned interior decorator. During the party, Alex proposes to June, and she joyfully accepts. June has spent her entire life planning a June wedding, documented in a massive binder she kept with her late mother. However, the dream is challenged when Alex reveals he has been offered a prestigious environmental law position in Cleveland, starting in February. To stay together, they decide to move the wedding to the last Saturday in January, leaving them only three weeks to plan. Conflict arises immediately as Diana Blackwell offers her home as a venue and begins to systematically override June's choices, from the photographer to the menu, which Diana shifts toward avant-garde vegetarian options like 'kale crisps' and 'cauliflower parmesan.' Meanwhile, Diana's assistant Bethany, who has a long-standing crush on Alex, attempts to sabotage the relationship by suggesting to Alex that June is 'not classy' and more obsessed with the wedding than him. The tension peaks when Diana presents June with a pre-nuptial agreement, which June views as a sign of total lack of trust and acceptance. Feeling that her dream is being erased and her relationship is under siege, June calls off the wedding. The resolution begins when June's father, Charlie, gives her a letter written by her mother to be read on her wedding day. The letter emphasizes that details are 'immaterial' compared to the love between the couple. June reconciles with Alex, and Diana, realizing she has been 'clumsy' and overbearing, apologizes and fires Bethany for her interference. On the wedding day, a final hurdle appears when they discover Bethany maliciously canceled the minister, but Alex's family connections save the day with a last-minute replacement. June and Alex marry in a beautiful January ceremony and prepare for their new life in Cleveland.
