    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens with Erin Cavendish, the low-profile marketing director for Cavendish Chocolates, visiting a retail store where she observes the disconnect between corporate strategy and customer experience. At a board meeting, her father Foster expresses concern over declining Easter sales and the rise of a trendy competitor, Chocmate. To identify the root of the problem, Foster convinces Erin to go undercover at their flagship factory in Sweetwater, Washington. Posing as 'Veronica Erinson,' a transfer from the Iowa plant, Erin stays at a B&B run by former employees who secretly know her identity. At the factory, Erin is assigned to the 'Buttery Bunny' assembly line under the supervision of Flo, where she struggles comically with the fast-paced automation. She soon meets Bryan Bailey, the head chocolatier and a widower, who is vocally frustrated by the company's shift toward automation at the expense of quality and craftsmanship. As they work together on Easter baskets, Bryan teaches Erin about the artistry of chocolate, explaining that it should appeal to all senses, including sound. Erin also bonds with Bryan’s young daughter, Madison, helping her sew a bunny costume for the town's Easter pageant. Inspired by Bryan’s talent and the town's traditions, Erin suggests reviving the 'Legendary Cavendish Egg,' a handcrafted product featuring a white chocolate buttercream butterfly inside. They develop the prototype together, and Erin arranges for them to pitch the idea to the board in Seattle. During the pitch, the board is impressed by the product and the synergy between 'Veronica' and Bryan. However, the ruse falls apart when Bryan sees a photograph of Erin and Foster in the factory manager's office. Feeling manipulated and believing the egg was only greenlit because of Erin's status, Bryan confronts her and considers taking a job offer from Chocmate. Erin returns to Seattle, where she is promoted to Senior VP. She uses her new authority to promote Flo to a sales position and greenlight a line of handcrafted holiday classics. She returns to Sweetwater for the Easter festival to apologize to Bryan. She reveals that she has arranged for him to study with a master chocolatier in Switzerland. Bryan realizes her feelings are genuine, and they confess their love for each other during the town's Easter pageant.
