The premise

When an aspiring surgeon is turned down for a fellowship, she takes a temporary position working as a GP in a small Alaskan town in an effort to boost her résumé.

How unusual is it?

More than most. Santa is real, Santa himself and an actual miracle push it well past the usual Hallmark template — the strangest 12% of everything we've logged.

Every trope, all in one place

Why we’d put this one on

Candace Cameron Bure plays an ambitious doctor who, after missing out on a fellowship, takes a temporary GP gig in a tiny, oddly cheerful Alaskan town to pad her resume. Of course the town is hiding something, and at a weirdness of 7 you can probably guess the flavor of secret a place this festive is keeping. It is a cozy fish-out-of-water Christmas romance with a big-hearted small-town charm and a sweet turn from David O'Donnell as the local love interest. No spoilers, but the title is doing some quiet winking. A reliable December watch.
