Amazing Winter Romance

The film opens in Chicago, where Julia Miller is a writer for an inspirational column but has lost her own sense of inspiration, writing cynical takes on love and dreams. Her boss, Selena, gives her an ultimatum: return to her hometown of Williston to write a piece on small-town charm or lose her job. Upon arriving in Williston, Julia reunites with her parents and her childhood best friend, Nate Perry. Nate has spent the winter building a massive 'snow maze' on his property using excess snow from the town's plowing efforts, intended to boost local morale and tourism. Julia is initially skeptical but begins to spend time with Nate, helping him and her father, Bob, plow the streets. She meets Skye, a newcomer and self-proclaimed artist who is aggressively enthusiastic about the town and seems to have a romantic interest in Nate. This sparks jealousy in Julia, though she tries to act as Nate's 'wingman.' As Julia struggles to find the 'heart' of her article, Nate encourages her to actually walk through the maze to experience its zen-like qualities. She eventually writes a moving piece about how the maze quiets the noise of the world, allowing one to find their true path. The article goes viral, bringing a surge of tourists and even a national news crew to Williston. Despite the success, Julia feels she must return to Chicago for her career. Meanwhile, Skye realizes Nate's heart belongs to Julia and decides to move back to New York, admitting she was trying too hard to fit in. Misunderstandings peak when Julia sees Nate and Skye together and assumes they are dating. As Julia drives out of town, Nate realizes he cannot let her leave again without confessing his feelings. He uses his father's snowplow authority to stage a fake roadblock on the highway. When Julia stops, Nate confesses that he has loved her for years and begs her to stay. Julia reveals that her journey through the maze taught her that her destination is Williston. The film concludes with the couple together, hosting a community race through the snow maze.
