    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The airline loses the wedding dress and it somehow travels to London, British Columbia, Idaho, and Edinburgh in one week.
    • The groom buys a house and moves a wedding venue with 10 days' notice without telling the bride.
    • The 'Ugly Sweater Bachelor Party' features grown men drinking mineral water and eating low-sodium popcorn to fit into tuxedos.

    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens with a flashback to Leah’s 10th birthday, where her neighbor Ms. Vaughn explains the concept of 'milestone birthdays,' specifically highlighting age 30 as the year a woman truly comes into her own. In the present, Leah owns 'Worldly Charm,' a boutique selling international fair-trade goods, though she herself has never traveled due to a deep-seated fear of leaving her father, Tom, who suffered a heart attack years prior. Her brother Paul and his fiancée Julia arrive for their Christmas Eve wedding, but disaster strikes when the airline loses Julia’s designer wedding dress and luggage. Paul reveals a secret plan to the family: he has purchased Julia’s childhood home and intends to move the entire wedding there with only two weeks' notice as a romantic surprise. Drew, Paul’s best friend and Leah’s childhood crush, returns from teaching abroad to serve as best man. Unlike Leah’s family, who are preoccupied with the wedding, Drew remembers Leah’s 30th birthday and initiates a series of 'birthday moments,' including decorating a nostalgic tree, a horse-drawn carriage ride, and baking international cookies. As they work together to repair the new house's gazebo, the romantic tension builds. However, Drew is slated to leave for Costa Rica after the holidays, and Paul is protective of his 'baby sister,' leading Drew to initially pull away during a mistletoe encounter. After a heart-to-heart with her father, who encourages her to stop holding herself back, Leah decides to finally accept a travel opportunity in Peru. At the wedding reception, the family surprises Leah with a heartfelt tribute and travel miles, acknowledging her milestone birthday. Drew reveals he has decided not to sell his grandmother’s house and plans to return to Rose Lake after one semester to start a cultural program with Leah, finally confessing his love. The film ends with the couple celebrating both the wedding and Leah’s 30th birthday together.
