Lily Reed comes home to Scotland with her mother, Cait, for what Cait frames as a final mother-daughter adventure before Lily leaves for a six-month photography program in Seville. Lily has also recently left her position at DePaul Brewery after her divorce from Phil, determined to build a new life for herself outside the family business she helped market. Lily agrees to help, even though she plans to leave soon, and the two begin spending long hours together refining concepts, which brings back their old chemistry and exposes how well they understand one another. As Lily gets to know Logan’s son Finn, she becomes increasingly part of the Campbell household. Finn adores her, opens up to her about rugby, and becomes a kind of bridge between her and Logan. The family also realizes Lily is more than just a temporary helper; she is someone whose presence makes the home feel warmer, while Logan’s brothers Rory and Caleb gently encourage him to act on his feelings. The attraction deepens through shared meals, a pub date disguised as business, and moments of honesty about divorce, grief, and the pressure of living up to family expectations. The story shifts when Cait collapses and Lily finally learns the truth: her mother has terminal liver cancer. Cait and Mairi had hidden the diagnosis from Lily, hoping to preserve the joy of the trip and spare her from spending the whole visit in mourning. Lily is devastated and angry that everyone knew except her, while Logan, who has also been carrying his own grief from losing Meg, tries to support her even as the relationship strains under the weight of the revelation. Cait insists that Lily should still go to Spain and keep chasing her dreams, turning the trip into a goodbye rather than a postponement. With Cait’s encouragement, Lily pushes through her heartbreak, stays in Scotland longer, and helps Logan finish the Frost branding in time for the launch. The label design succeeds, the campaign gets momentum, and the Campbell family celebrates the release together. In the final stretch, Logan admits he wants another shot with Lily and asks her to see where things can go, even if her future still includes Spain. Lily agrees to keep exploring the possibility, choosing love and a life that is still unfolding rather than one already decided.
