    Full story (spoilers)
The film opens in New York City, where Anna Bowman and Sebastian Laurent work at Dash Creative. Anna is a meticulous, budget-conscious account manager, while Sebastian is an impulsive creative director who believes 'research is the enemy of creativity.' After a disastrous pitch for a soda brand involving expensive 'bubble' concepts, their boss Caroline sends them to Paris to win the Durand Diamonds account. Upon meeting Marianne and Louis Durand, Anna accidentally mentions a 'honeymoon,' leading the Durands to believe the two are married. Sebastian, desperate for the account and redemption in his hometown, leans into the lie, claiming they are celebrating their one-year anniversary. The Durands, who value the 'special something' a couple brings to business, move them into a honeymoon suite at the Lux hotel. As they work on the campaign, they face competition from Gabriel, a prickly French ad executive who is friends with Sebastian's brother, Marcel. Sebastian reveals his past shame: he was the VP of marketing for his family's department store, Laurent, but was exiled after a marketing stunt involving flamethrowers accidentally set the coat department on fire. Anna shares her own baggage, including a brief, failed marriage that makes her cynical about romance. To find inspiration, they explore Paris, capturing real-life proposals on camera and interviewing American couples. Sebastian helps Anna loosen up, even engaging in a street mime performance, while Anna helps Sebastian find focus. The conflict escalates when Sebastian's parents, Jacques and Lucie, learn of the 'marriage' through Gabriel and invite the couple to dinner. Anna helps Sebastian navigate the tension with his stern father. Meanwhile, the Durands move the campaign launch up to their annual gala, requiring Anna to wear the $23 million 'Rosé' diamond. At the gala, the Durands publicly toast the couple's anniversary. Overwhelmed by guilt and her own integrity, Anna confesses the truth to the entire room. They are immediately fired by the Durands and their boss, Caroline. However, Anna later defends Sebastian to his parents, and Sebastian realizes he truly loves her. After Sebastian apologizes to the Durands and explains that their connection was genuine even if the marriage wasn't, the Durands rehire them. The film concludes with Sebastian proposing to Anna for real on a bridge in Paris, and the two decide to start their own agency together.
