    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • The protagonist's grandfather buys her an actual island as a 'congratulations' gift for becoming CEO.
    • The 'Ginger-apocalypse' - a dramatic term used for dropping a tray of cookies.
    • The Fire Chief responds to a smoke alarm and stays to give a lecture on fireplace flues and LED lights.

    Full story (spoilers)
Jessica Morgan is a high-powered executive in New York preparing to succeed her grandfather, Harold, as CEO of the Morgan Organization. Feeling a need to connect with her roots before the transition, she travels to Glenbrooke, Colorado, where her late parents met and her mother grew up. To avoid the 'Morgan' name's influence, she introduces herself as Jessica Emerson. Upon arrival, she has a rocky start with Kyle Buchanan, the town's Fire Chief, after nearly hitting him with her car and later accidentally filling her rental cottage with smoke because she didn't know how to open a fireplace flue. Despite these mishaps, a connection forms as Jessica integrates into the community, guest-teaching an art class at the local center and helping organize a fundraiser to repair the town's historic Christmas bells, which require a $10,000 motor. Kyle, an MIT graduate who left a corporate career in Seattle to serve his hometown, reveals he is wary of wealthy outsiders after his fiancée left him for not being rich enough. The conflict peaks when a socialite friend from New York recognizes Jessica at the fundraiser, and Kyle's friend in the police department uncovers her true identity. Feeling betrayed and 'blindsided' by another woman with money, Kyle breaks off the relationship. Jessica prepares to leave Glenbrooke, but she leaves behind a sketchbook filled with heartfelt drawings of the townspeople. After seeing the sketches and being scolded by his colleague Ruthie for his stubbornness, Kyle realizes Jessica's feelings were genuine. He chases her car down with his fire truck, and they reconcile on the road. Jessica's grandfather arrives and supports her decision to run the company remotely from Glenbrooke while focusing the family foundation on the arts. The film concludes with the bells ringing on Christmas Eve as the couple makes a wish together.
