Napa Ever After

The film opens with a flashback of young Cassandra at Eloi Vineyard with her grandmother, Emma, who teaches her the tradition of signing the first cork of a new vintage. This idyllic memory is cut short when Cassandra’s parents take her away, sparking a decades-long family rift. In the present day, Cassandra is a workaholic lawyer in San Francisco who has just made partner. When she receives news of Emma’s passing, she returns to Napa for the funeral, intending to sell the property quickly. However, she meets Alec Jackson, a charming widower and software designer who helped Emma maintain the vineyard, and Isabel, Emma's best friend. Cassandra soon learns that the vineyard is 'underwater' financially, mortgaged to the hilt with no equity. Defying her father Gary’s advice to sell, Cassandra takes a six-month sabbatical to save Eloi. She decides to relaunch 'Eloi Weddings' to generate the necessary cash flow, with her best friend Lena agreeing to be the first client. As Cassandra learns the grueling reality of winemaking and property management from Alec, the two develop a romantic connection. Cassandra even sells her car to fund barn repairs, demonstrating her commitment. The conflict peaks when toxic mold is discovered in the barn just ten days before Lena’s wedding, leading a defeated Cassandra to accept a buyout offer from a local bank. However, her father Gary arrives and reveals that Cassandra’s mother never wanted to leave the vineyard but did so out of love for him. He provides the funds for the remediation, urging Cassandra not to repeat his mistake of abandoning one's true passion. Cassandra rejects the bank's offer, repairs the barn, and successfully hosts Lena’s wedding. The film concludes with a time jump to Cassandra and Alec’s own wedding at Eloi, where Cassandra has fully embraced her new life as a winemaker and vineyard owner.
