The premise

Sam lands a job photographing a new spa in Southern California for their brochure and brings her best friend Cassie along to enjoy some pampering. When one of the guests staying at the upscale retreat turns up dead, Sam is once again on the trail of a murderer. As the investigation progresses, Sam uncovers a scam that the spa Dr was testing unapproved drugs on the patrons.. filler implants, etc. without the patients' informed consent.

Samantha Kinsey and her friend Cassie Hillman arrive at Drummond Spa and Healing Center to shoot promotional photographs, expecting a relaxing assignment. Instead, they enter a place that is aggressively obsessed with fitness, beauty, and control, where guests are pushed through hikes, vitamin shots, facials, massages, and cosmetic procedures. The staff, especially chief consultant Tina Moore and trainer Adam, are eager to upsell every service, while the shy new groom Emily Claire seems frightened and out of place. Tension rises when the spa guests begin unraveling emotionally. Debbie Philips is exposed as the other woman in Alice Robbins's marriage, causing a public scene during the hike, and then she disappears. Emily later leads Samantha and Cassie to Debbie's body, insisting she knew where it was through a vision. Chief Connors immediately suspects Emily, particularly after learning that her real name is Raven Quist and that she has a juvenile record from a childhood scam run by her mother and grandmother. Samantha and Cassie refuse to accept that Emily is the killer and start testing the spa's story. They learn that the guests are unnaturally energized and ravenous after receiving the spa's vitamin shots, and several women begin acting strangely or suffering bad reactions. Cassie also notices that Dr. Drummond, Tina, and Adam are hiding something because they do not want their pictures taken for the brochure, and Samantha discovers that the spa is running two sets of books. Further digging reveals that Dr. Drummond is really Albert Greeley, a disgraced doctor who previously ran into trouble in Wisconsin for using unapproved drugs and treatments. The spa's guests have been unknowingly receiving dangerous experimental substances disguised as vitamin injections and cosmetic products, and the money trail shows payments from a pharmaceutical company to Greeley for testing unapproved fillers and implants. The women at the spa are effectively being used as human test subjects, and Debbie likely discovered the fraud when she noticed implants without proper serial numbers. In the final stretch, Samantha pieces together that Tina Moore is the actual murderer and that Dr. Greeley helped cover it up. When Debbie realized what was happening and threatened to expose the operation, Tina killed her to keep the scheme quiet. Samantha, Cassie, Philby, and Chief Connors move in on the spa, arrest the conspirators, and shut down the illegal operation. Emily is finally free to leave for Harvard, having been believed and protected at last.
