Garage Sale Mystery: All That Glitters

Jennifer Shannon and her business partner Dani are in their element buying, selling, and appraising quirky finds through their antique business and storage-auction side hustle. At the same time, Dani is enjoying the dating scene, while Jennifer and her family are sorting through auction items, garage-sale bargains, and the occasional too-good-to-pass-up treasure. Early on, they witness a heated argument at a self-storage facility between Martin Foley and a disgruntled former customer, which seems like just another ugly auction dispute. The situation turns serious when Martin is reported missing and Jennifer helps the police identify his body. Detective Frank Lynwood determines that Martin was likely murdered after a struggle in his office and that the body was hidden in an empty storage unit. Jennifer, unable to leave the case alone, starts reviewing the contents of the auctioned storage unit she bought and begins finding strange clues: old newspaper padding, foreign currency, a book about diamonds, balancing scales, and other items that suggest the unit belonged to someone involved in jewelry rather than ordinary storage. As Jennifer and Dani keep digging, the clues start pointing toward a long-ago diamond robbery. A shop burglary that initially seems minor turns out to be connected to the same mystery, especially when it becomes clear the intruder was searching for a suitcase and a teddy bear hidden among Jennifer’s inventory. Meanwhile, Dani meets and goes on a date with a charming man named Alan Bernard, who seems like a nice, cultured potential boyfriend, even as Jennifer continues pulling together the evidence. Jennifer follows up on the man she saw arguing with Martin and tracks a license plate back to Louise Foley’s garage. The investigation then exposes the truth: Alan Bernard is really Derrick Brooks, a presumed-dead jewel thief who staged a boating death years earlier after orchestrating a diamond heist. He had hidden the stolen stones in a storage unit, kept the account on auto-pay, and came back when he discovered the unit had been auctioned off. Martin became collateral damage when Brooks demanded to know who had bought his property. Jennifer pieces together that Brooks has been using a false identity and that the diamonds are still hidden in the very items he keeps searching for. The tension spikes when Brooks shows up at Maryanne’s house looking for the jewels, which he believes may be in the stuffed teddy bear. Jennifer warns the family, police are called, and a final confrontation erupts in the house as Brooks threatens everyone to get the diamonds back. Dani and Jennifer stand their ground until the police arrive and Brooks is arrested, ending the immediate danger. With the murderer caught, Jennifer apologizes to Louise for suspecting her, but Louise explains that her marriage to Martin was long over and that she never wanted him harmed. The story closes with a gentler treasure hunt: Jennifer, Jason, and Logan dig up what they think is pirate treasure, only to discover a sentimental family time capsule instead. The final reveal turns the movie back toward Hallmark warmth, with lost memories restored and even more attic treasures waiting to be uncovered.
