    Full story (spoilers)
Meg Tompkins owns Mimi’s Book Corner in Nantucket, where her blind-date book club wraps books in cryptic clues and has unexpectedly become a local sensation. An NPR feature brings more visibility to the shop, while Meg insists the club is about the books, not matchmaking, even if romance keeps happening around it. At the same time, bestselling YA author Graham Sterling argues with his agent Terrence about being boxed into a profitable series when he wants to write something more meaningful. Graham arrives at the shop under the pseudonym Dylan Turner and asks Meg to read his self-published romance manuscript. Meg is honest to the point of bluntness, telling him the relationship at the center of the novel lacks depth, but she also recognizes that he has real talent. Their banter is easy and electric, and Graham is drawn to her candor, while Meg is intrigued by the anonymous writer who wants her opinion so badly. Meg’s personal life becomes more complicated when her Aunt Renee returns after years away and explains that she wants to liquidate her investment in the bookstore so she can travel. That forces Meg to confront the financial and emotional weight of keeping the shop going on her own. Meanwhile, Graham keeps coming back, asking for more critique and gradually opening up about feeling trapped by expectations, his bestselling identity, and the pressure to keep producing the same books over and over. Their connection deepens through small dates, bookish conversations, and shared vulnerability. Graham joins one of Meg’s themed book club nights, where the group gives him the kind of candid feedback he has been craving, and he is surprised by how much he values it. But the situation goes sideways when Meg discovers Dylan Turner is actually Graham Sterling, a famous author, and she feels manipulated because she has been promoting his book without knowing who he really is. The reveal turns the evening into a mess, especially when the crowd realizes a celebrity author has been sitting among them and the book club starts to feel like a circus. Feeling overwhelmed and ashamed that she has let her mother’s legacy become a public spectacle, Meg announces that she is going to sell the bookstore. The community is stunned, and both Meg and Graham are left to reckon with how much they have each been hiding from themselves. After the fallout, Meg reflects on what the shop really means and realizes that she has already made Mimi’s Book Corner into something distinctly her own. Graham, meanwhile, uses Meg’s feedback to improve his novel and rediscover what he loves about writing, choosing to continue with his series while still making space for the more ambitious work he wants to create. By the end, Meg decides that Nantucket is home, Graham tells her she is the most real and refreshing thing he has felt in years, and the blind date book club proves it can lead to love as well as literature.
