A Majestic Christmas

Nell Harper, an architect in New York City with a passion for historic preservation, is assigned by her boss, Charles, to a project in her hometown of Briar Falls. The project involves converting the historic Majestic Playhouse into a modern multiplex for the new owner, Connor Martin. Nell and Connor have a rocky start when they meet in the city; Connor mistakenly accuses Nell of stealing from a Santa donation pot when she was actually retrieving a dropped bracelet. Upon returning to Briar Falls, Nell finds the townspeople, including her parents and the local actor Barry, are devastated that the multiplex will end the 60-year tradition of the Christmas Pageant. Connor, who inherited the theater from his Aunt Emily, is initially focused on profit and modern amenities like VR arcades, while Nell advocates for 'adaptive reuse' to save the building's integrity. A series of disasters strike the theater, including burst pipes and a set collapse, which threaten the final pageant. Connor, moved by the town's spirit and his own childhood memories of a happy Christmas spent with Aunt Emily, decides to fund the repairs. As Nell and Connor work together on the festival events—including a caroling session, a snowman-building contest they win, and a street dance—they begin to fall in love. However, tension arises when Nell decides to quit her firm to stay in Briar Falls and start her own practice; Connor misinterprets this as her abandoning the project. The conflict is resolved when Connor reviews Nell's 'fantasy' blueprints that blend the old and new. He realizes the town needs the Majestic Playhouse more than a multiplex. In the climax, Connor announces he is preserving the theater, and he and Nell reconcile. The film ends with Connor taking over a role in the pageant's living tableau after Barry is injured, and he and Nell sharing a kiss under the mistletoe.
