Along the way, Greg reveals his professional trauma: he once nearly destroyed a doctor's career with a faulty investigative piece, leading him to play it safe with 'soft news.' As they spend time together—decorating gingerbread cities and attending a vintage train event—they decode more charms. A 'Snow Maiden' charm reveals a connection to the Russian ballet, and a specific skyline view leads them to the Whitmore Hotel. The mystery deepens when they find initials 'J infinity Y' on a steam engine charm. Conflict arises when Greg's deadline approaches; fearing the story won't pan out, he almost bails to write a safer article about a 'Christmas stork.' This creates a rift with Holly, who feels he is abandoning the mission. However, after seeing a video of Megan's gender reveal (twins), Holly realizes the 'identical elves' on the bracelet represent twins. She tracks the charms to a specific charity gala held at Chateau on the Park. Greg reconciles with Holly, and they use his press credentials to enter the gala.
