    Full story (spoilers)
Erica Olson is visiting a bookstore when she learns her latest book is failing everywhere else and landing on the bargain table, which only reinforces her insecurity about her work. Her publisher contact explains that the Spanish version of "Barcelona Mi Amor" is suddenly a massive hit in Barcelona, and Erica is invited to come help with the Sant Jordi festivities alongside the novel’s credited author, Anna Kelly. Erica is supposed to stay invisible as the translator, but the book’s success depends on a version she secretly rewrote far more extensively than the contract allowed. When Erica arrives in Barcelona, she reconnects with Nico Olivera, the warm, book-loving owner of the local bookstore and a longtime friend whose affection for her has always stayed just on the edge of romance. Nico is enchanted by the book and by Anna, not knowing that the words he loves are mostly Erica’s. Erica is immediately caught between pride and guilt, especially when Anna treats her as a helpful local guide and Nico asks Erica to keep Anna company during her stay. As Sant Jordi preparations begin, Erica helps Anna experience Barcelona, its foods, and its traditions, while Nico keeps inviting Erica into his world of flowers, books, and sentimental gestures. Anna eventually asks Erica to help her find the right words for Nico, turning Erica into a kind of modern Cyrano who writes and translates romance for everyone except herself. Meanwhile, Erica and Nico share increasingly intimate conversations about fate, belonging, fear, and the difference between safe choices and the life they want to be living. Nico commissions a short story for Sant Jordi, and Erica is asked to help again, this time with a project that should showcase her voice while still keeping her anonymous. The pressure of the deadline, the NDA, and her own self-doubt leaves Erica feeling like she is failing both as a writer and as a friend. At the same time, Nico continues to be drawn to the version of Erica he can feel but not quite see, while Anna and the publisher push the public event toward a bigger and bigger climax. On Sant Jordi day, everything finally spills out. Erica reveals that the beloved version of the book and the short story were shaped by her, not by the credited author, and Anna supports the confession in front of the crowd. Nico realizes the words he fell in love with came from Erica, and Erica, who has spent the whole story hiding her talent and her feelings, finally admits the truth about herself as a writer and as a woman in love. The public embraces her voice, her work gets the recognition it deserves, and Nico confesses his love back, ending the story with mutual honesty and a new beginning.
