    Full story (spoilers)
Hannah Swensen's bakery, The Cookie Jar, is selected as a last-minute filming location for 'The Connie Mac Show,' hosted by the legendary 'Queen of the Kitchen.' Hannah is initially starstruck but quickly realizes the production is a facade; Connie Mac is a fraud who cannot bake, relying entirely on her producer Hunt Bantry and food stylist Evan St. Clair. The morning after the first day of filming, Hannah discovers Hunt's body in the bakery. While the death is initially suspected to be natural, a toxicology report later reveals he was poisoned with Tetrahydrozoline (eye drops). Hannah begins investigating the crew, noting that Evan was resentful of being passed over for a producer role and that Connie's secret was known to Hunt. Meanwhile, Hannah's love interest, prosecutor Chad, is preparing for the trial of Lloyd Chassley, a notorious cat burglar. Hannah notices that the last thing Hunt searched for on his laptop was information about the Chassley trial. Through a series of unconventional interrogations—including Norman the dentist extracting information from crew members while they are under anesthesia—Hannah learns that the show's wardrobe assistant, Louise, is actually Lloyd Chassley's daughter. Hannah deduces that Louise planned to stage copycat burglaries in Lake Eden to create reasonable doubt for her father's trial, and she killed Hunt when he discovered her scheme. To catch her, Hannah, Norman, and her mother Delores stage a 'sting' by publicly announcing that Delores is leaving her valuable jewelry unattended while going out of town. Louise falls for the bait and breaks into the Swensen home. In a tense climax, Louise pulls a gun and shoots Norman, but he survives with a minor wound. Louise is apprehended, and the film concludes with Hannah and Chad finally going on their long-awaited first date.
