Mystery Island hosts a corporate retreat with a guest being Emilia's ex-fiancé. Old feelings become complicated, tensions run high, and allegations arise when a guest is found dead.
A fairly classic Hallmark setup with a quirk or two.
The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

Opening
Mystery Island prepares for a VIP murder-game weekend as Emilia, Jason, and Janey discuss the arrival of Franklin Trask and his wife Ainsley, forcing Emilia to confront her unresolved history with Franklin.
Inciting incident
The game begins, the party follows clues to the hidden hut, and the group discovers a long-hidden human corpse in a secret basement, revealing that a real mystery has been buried beneath the fake one.
Rising action
Emilia and Jason uncover clues about Ricardo Rincon, gold smuggling, secret rooms, and coded documents while Ainsley proves unusually adept at solving the game and appears to know more than she should.
Midpoint
Franklin secretly confesses to Emilia that he is still in love with her, Ainsley overhears the exchange, and the resulting marital blowup ends with Ainsley threatening divorce and preparing to leave.
Conflict escalates
Ainsley is found murdered in the hidden hut, the guests and staff are interviewed, and multiple motives emerge involving cheating, hidden payments, jealousy, and Trask Global power struggles.
Climax
Emilia and Jason piece together that Ainsley was drugging the group for privacy, then connect her clue, a $10 million cashier's check, and the boardroom maneuvering to Viveca Bently as the true murderer.
Resolution
Viveca is arrested, the surviving guests process the truth, Franklin apologizes, and Emilia and Jason share a final romantic exchange that leaves their relationship unresolved but promising.
A few things that make this one stand out once you stack it up against every other Hallmark movie.
At 2 hours it's a genuine epic by Hallmark standards — only about 58 of their movies run two hours or longer.
