    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • A planned horseback excursion turns into a donkey ride with no proper handler.
    • A Mediterranean storm reroutes the cruise to a different port and turns the trip into a cross-country chase.
    • A train workers’ strike strands the leads overnight in Sicily.
    • An alternative healer treats Parker’s back pain with a shiatsu massage and willow bark tea.

    Full story (spoilers)
Kelly Coates joins a last-minute cruise with her brother Parker while secretly working a due diligence assignment for Staley and Scholes Venture Capital. Her boss wants her to identify any reasons not to invest in Crandall Corporation’s luxury cruise division, and she is supposed to finish the report while remaining incognito. Onboard, she immediately crosses paths with Parker Andrews, who is introduced as a corporate attorney working for Crandall and a notorious workaholic with a gift for dad jokes. Their first interactions are full of playful irritation and mutual teasing, but the attraction starts to show quickly. Kelly tries to stay focused on her job, while Parker keeps trying to coax her off the laptop and into the experience of the trip. The cruise’s itinerary sends them off the ship in Palermo, where they wander into a series of comic travel mishaps: a donkey excursion instead of horseback riding, a missing guide, and a frantic race to catch the ship before departure. When they miss the ship, the pair has to improvise their way to the next port. Plans involving cars and trains fall apart, and a railway strike strands them overnight in Sicily. Kelly unexpectedly helps calm striking workers by pitching Parker’s business deal as a way to protect local jobs, and in the process she shows the confidence and quick thinking that make her such a strong PR professional. The detour forces both of them to spend more time together, and their flirtation deepens into genuine connection. The journey becomes more complicated when Kelly reveals she is not just a tourist but the secret shopper whose report could affect Parker’s company. Parker feels betrayed, especially once he learns that his boss Adam Crandall has also been trying to manipulate the situation by asking Parker to stall Kelly from returning to the ship. At the same time, Kelly is dealing with Parker’s incomplete honesty, her own stress about her assignment, and the lingering fear of making the wrong choice between work and something more personal. A storm reroutes the cruise and forces Kelly and Parker to chase the ship across Italy by train, taxi, boat, and scooter. Along the way they confess their histories: Parker opens up about his failed marriage and his tendency to overinvest in work, while Kelly admits she has a similar habit of hiding behind control because she is afraid of heartbreak. Their bond grows stronger in each crisis, and by the time they finally make it back to the ship, they understand each other in a way neither expected. Back on board, Kelly loses her job when her boss decides to use another consultant, but Parker helps her keep perspective and encourages her to trust her instincts. At the investor presentation, Kelly defends the cruise line with an honest, heartfelt report that emphasizes the company’s integrity and the value of work-life balance. Adam ultimately changes course, chooses to keep control of Crandall Cruises, and brings Kelly and Parker into a new future together. In the end, Kelly and Parker admit their feelings, and the story closes on the idea that love is worth the risk.
