    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • A romance built around tracking down a 50-year anonymous Christmas benefactor through decades-old receipts and Bills memorabilia.
    • Bills players appear at a children’s hospital Christmas craft event and then again at the game-day celebration.
    • Santa functions like a recurring relationship coach for the lead couple.

    Full story (spoilers)
The story opens with Morgan caught on a bad date that collapses as soon as it becomes clear the man does not share her passion for the Bills, football, or Christmas chaos. Back at her family’s house, the DeLucas are in full holiday mode, decorating the front yard, prepping for the Bills’ last home game before Christmas, and protecting their long-standing tradition of taking a family photo inside the stadium. During the decorating frenzy, Uncle Tommy reveals the heart of the movie’s mystery: for decades, an anonymous person has sent him Christmas gifts, but he never discovered who it was. Morgan learns the gifts originally began when Tommy was serving in Vietnam and his mother, Morgan’s grandmother, was struggling to keep the family afloat. Moved by his story and by the fact that he has never had the chance to thank the sender, Morgan convinces Gabe to help her find the mystery benefactor. Morgan and Gabe launch an investigation that sends them to the post office, Vidler’s, and the family archives of old ornaments and receipts. Along the way they bond over Bills lore, hospital volunteer work, and their shared love of Buffalo during the holidays. The search repeatedly runs into dead ends, but it also exposes the pair’s obvious chemistry, which everyone around them seems to notice long before they do. The clue trail eventually points from Abbott Road to Abbotsford Place, where Morgan and Gabe find Mia Ford, Tommy’s long-lost high school friend. Mia admits she was the one sending the gifts all these years because she has loved Tommy her whole life and never wanted him to feel indebted or to know her sacrifice. Morgan wants to tell Tommy, but Mia is scared to be exposed, so the secret remains in limbo just as Gabe gathers the courage to confess that he has loved Morgan for years. On game day at Highmark, Gabe stages a public Christmas miracle during the Salute to Service ceremony. Tommy is reunited with Mia in front of the Bills crowd, and Tommy finally tells her he has loved her for 50 years. The emotional high is interrupted when Cathy goes into labor, forcing the family to rush to the hospital, where baby Jessica is born just in time for Christmas. The finale brings everyone back to the field for the long-delayed family photo, plus a bonus round of flag football with Bills players. Morgan and Gabe finally clear the air; both admit they do not want to wait a lifetime, and the movie ends with them together in the place and moment they have both been chasing all along, surrounded by family, football, and holiday magic.
