    Wait, what?

The quirks and curveballs that make this one a little weirder than your average Hallmark. No spoilers, promise.

    • Two rival advertising executives compete for the same dairy-farm account while living at a bed and breakfast on the client's property.
    • The story leans heavily on cow-themed puns and ice-cream jokes as part of the romance and competition.
    • A calf and a goat form a friendship that becomes a cute branding mascot moment.
    • The leads create a long list of arbitrary competition rules to keep their professional rivalry 'fair.'

    Full story (spoilers)
Nora works for Alexandra Rankin's fledgling advertising company, which is under pressure to land enough business to survive. At H Company, James is also vying for a Vice President promotion, and his boss Everett sets the challenge: whoever signs the hottest new national account gets the job. Both Nora and James identify Darlington Dairy, a beloved Wisconsin family farm known for its inventive ice cream, as the prize account they need. Their competition becomes awkward immediately when they arrive at the Darlington family's bed and breakfast on the same day and realize they are each there to pitch the same clients. Matthew and Ann Marie Darlington, along with their granddaughter Josie, welcome them in and insist they stay for dinner, but the couple makes it clear that the business means more than revenue to them. Nora and James each try to impress the family while trading barbs and trying not to sabotage one another. The visit turns into an unexpected work retreat when farm manager Caegen injures his back and the ice cream festival is only days away. Nora and James agree to stay and help with the festival, which forces them into close proximity on chores, farm work, and late nights under the stars. As they spend time together, they soften toward each other, trade childhood and career stories, and begin to admire qualities they had previously overlooked, including each other's discipline, intelligence, and work ethic. At the same time, the town introduces them to its community values. They learn about the cost pressures on dairy farmers, the mayor's failed effort to subsidize feed, and the importance of Darlington Dairy as a legacy business rather than just a commercial client. Nora proposes a ring-toss fundraiser idea for local farmers, and James begins to understand the emotional appeal of the account, while Nora sees that James is not the shallow corporate climber she assumed he was. The romance and the competition both intensify when Everett pushes James to secure the account at any cost. James secretly helps arrange a donation idea for the farmers, but Everett weaponizes the move and turns it into a corporate victory for H Company, even spreading lies about Alexandra to sway the Darlingtons. Nora feels betrayed, especially because she had started to trust James, and she prepares to leave the town and return to New York with her company losing the account. On pitch day, the Darlingtons hear both presentations. James ultimately quits H Company rather than continue working for Everett's unethical approach, and the Darlingtons learn that H Company was using the farmers as a PR strategy. When that truth comes out, they choose Nora and Alexandra's firm instead, appreciating the sincerity of her approach and the shared values behind her campaign. Nora rushes to find James, they confess their feelings, and they agree to keep making room for each other in their lives and careers.
